Little Lord Fauntleroy

Book Review:      I read "Little Lord Fauntleroy". This book had 7,250 words and little long, but interesting for me. Cedric Errol is now Lord Fauntleroy and the next heir. (p. 4) Suddenly a woman's son became Lord Fauntleroy. This made me surprising.  'Oh, look! He's just like his father, with the same hair, the same eyes. The dear little boy!' (p. 18) His (Cedric's) father died before, but he was so kind person. People graded because Cedric's appearance was similar to his father. However I felt they had worrying to much about the looking. The Earl took her hand. (p. 42) Her means Cedric's mother. Cedric loves her. At first the earl don't like her because she was American, but at last they could be a friend. I felt it was thanks of Cedric. He can talking with fun to everyone.  I thought I also like to be Cedric because I'm shy and I can't speak to everyone as the same. I was grad because Cedric's mother and the Earl made a good re

A Ghost in Love

Book review:      Today I finished reading a book of "A Ghost in Love". This book has plural short stories. My favorite one is the first story "One Ghost for the Day, One Ghost for the Night".  Or you are going to do this again and again and again and - (p. 3) "This" means  an action that getting a book and throw it many times. In this story, a ghost could operate other real people. I felt how strong the ghost is. In our house he talks to people and there is nobody there. (p. 9) A man who is called Richard can see the ghost, but his wife couldn't see, so she was thinking his husband became ill. If I was her, I would say like her. However I felt Richard was poor, because he can't proof about the ghost. Richard and Heston laugh. (p. 13) Heston is the name of the ghost. They could put a bad man into prison. Actually Heston became a ghost because of him. The bad man stole Heston's son's money. I was grad they could reveal the stealing. I quote

Does Cheese Come from Cows?

Book Review: Today I read "Does Cheese Come from Cows?". There are some quizzes like this title. Of course the answer was "true". "It is so cold inside the Earth that everything is frozen." (p. 5) This is the second question. The answer is false and the inside is so hot, but I wondered how become this world if the inside is cold.   "Lions are sometimes called 'big cats'." (p. 10) I didn't know the name, so this part was interesting for me. If I couldn't know the name, I might make a mistake.  "The first television was made out of a biscuit tin." (p. 13) This is one of the questions. I thought it's fault, but actually it was true. I learned the inventor of the television is John Logie Baird and he used cardboard and knitting needles and so on.      This book has a lot of cute pictures and interesting to read, but I felt this is good for a child. Thank you.

Stop Children Working!

Book Review:      I read "Stop Children Working!". In this book, a man stated the children' rights or bad working situation. I felt that we should think about that and if there is a place that children work early morning to night, we should make the city punish. It's not so easy but we must fight for them. When can working children see their families? Never! (p. 16) Not only they have to work, but also they can't spend much time with their family because they work so long time. This phrase made me sad. When they reach seventeen or eighteen years old, many employers will not pay them proper wages, so they lose their jobs. (p. 18)  I had thought if the child became adult, they can live more easily. However like this, nevertheless they became seventeen or eighteen years old they will be poverty. Think of these poor children and join me in my campaign to speak out against the people who hurt them. (p. 25) This is just a book, so I think there is no campaign, but to s

If Towns Could Talk...

Book Review:      Today I read "If Towns Could Talk... How British Towns Grew". This book was like a historical textbook, but not so long and interesting to read. A town grew up the market. (p. 4) I learned how the towns and cities began. According to this book, Some farmers grew a lot of food and came to markets to sell them and this is the origin of them. Moreover there were four important things to be more bigger town. They were food, fresh water, building materials and a supply of fuel. I learned that these things had to be nearby because it was difficult to transport. So one of the main reasons why Bath grew was because it was a spa. (p. 17) I didn't know about the city, but I felt I want to go there someday because I like a spa. In addition the city has a lot of beautiful buildings and the town is a World Heritage Site. William the Conqueror built a castle there, and the castle mound can still be seen. (p. 24) This phrase is about a Cambridge city. I have known abo
