The class Jan13, 2021
Today I learned about CALL. CALL means Computer-Assisted Language Learning. There is a book about it. It was published in 1997. It says that “distinguishes between computer as tutor and computer as tool.”
[computer as tutor]
In a “computer as tutor” situation, control of learning is in the hands of the computer programmer more than the teacher. Control is therefore less immediate: It is not possible to redesign a computer program instantly to meet the needs of specific learners at a particular moment. In contrast, in a regular classroom, a teacher can make many moment- to-moment decisions.
[computer as tool]
Thecomputerisconsideredassomething like a whiteboard, notebook, dictionary, or textbook. It doesn’t “teach” students. Instead, it is used by students and teachers as one element in a learning experience.
In addition I leaned the good points of writing blogs. I thought this blog is also important way to study. Through this blog I want to get a lot of skills.
