KIDNAPPED (2000)

 

      This week I read KIDNAPPED. In this book stage was almost near the sea or on the ship. My evaluation to this book is 5 and so-so. I write three quotes from this book and will discuss about them. The first one is: But my heart was beating with excitement as I walked down the road, because in my hand I carried the letter that my father had given me just before he died.(p. 02) This sentence made me exciting because I didn’t know about the new place. I hoped he can spend calm on the place. Second one is: ‘Shuan’s killed him at last!’(p.16) When I read this sentence, I was surprised. This ‘him’ means Ransome who is a boy on the ship. Ransome made Shuan angry often because he make some mistakes. But I have thought Shuan likes Ransome, so I was surprised and felt frightened. The last one is: When I saw how much he loved me, I was no longer angry, only sick, and sorry.(p.45) ‘I’ means David and ‘he’ means Alan. Through this part I thought to lost friend ship because of quarrel is sad and bad. And I felt I don’t want to be so.

 

      There are some complex and uneasy to understand parts on this book. But I thought interesting and good for extensive. So if you have free and want to read a book please try this.

According this book, this is thriller & adventure. But I thought not so thriller and there are few of cruel scene.

GOODBYE MR HOLLYWOOD

 Book Review:      Today I read GOODBYE MR HOLLYWOOD . Firstly I had thought this book is mystery. However it's not mystery story like Holmes but it contained accidents or questions.        There was a man who is Nick. He is a travel writer and have come Whistler, in Canada for his working. At a cafe in the village he met a pretty lady. He is called Mr. Hollywood from her because Nick likes movies. It's not strange thing but actually the name was beginning of all incidents.       Nick didn't know about the lady, but felt exciting because she was beautiful. After she left the cafe, he finished drinking his coffee and left there. However from the day he was chased from someone. Moreover when Nick was walking in the forest someone tried to kill him with a gun. Nick went to a police, but the officer didn't help him so much. I thought the officer isn't kind and not suit for police men.      To be safe he met the lady again because he has thought she knows something about

'Who, Sir? Me, Sir?'

 Book Review:      Today I finished reading a book of 'Who, Sir? Me, Sir?' This was little long and high level for me, so there are some points that I couldn't understand. However the story was interesting.     There was a teacher who wants his class to have ambition, and to do great things in life. Therefore he enters them for a sporting competition against the rich students of Greycoats School. The team that he has chosen for the competition think the teacher has gone crazy. 'Who, Sir? Me, Sir?' says little boy who is called Hoomey, his eyes round with horror. 'We'll never beat Greycoats,'  the others cry. 'Never in a million years!'      However you don't know what you can do until you try...      If you know the result of the competition, I recommend to read this book.
