LOVE STORY(2000)

 

      This week I read is LOVE STORY. This is written by ERICH SEGAL. This book’s level is 3. As for me there are some uneasy parts to understand because I confused of people’s name. But this book was interesting. Now I wrote down three quotes and will discuss. The first one is: ‘I love you very much, Oliver.’(p.19) This is the phrase of Jenny’s. Firstly Jenny was thinking Oliver is nagging. But through a lot of time with Oliver she started to fall in love with him gradually. This phrase made me happy and exciting. Second one is: I had decided not to tell anyone about my troubles.(p.44) This troubles means Jenny’s blood disease. When Oliver was told about this from doctor, he was so sad. However he decided not to tell it and show sad face. I thought he is kind and strong. The last one is: My father put his arms round me, and I cried.(p.55) My father means Oliver’s father. He was at daggers drawn with his father. When Jenny died, Oliver tried to don’t cry. But his father came here and gave comfort to him. Then Oliver cried and I was about to cry.

 

I want to recommend this book for everyone. There are two reasons. First, this book contain a lot of elements. For example Love with lover and family and thinking of poverty and wealth’s difference and so on. Second, This book is easy to reading. There was some uneasy parts for me, but words are not so difficult. If everyone want to read warm-hearted story, please read this book.

GOODBYE MR HOLLYWOOD

 Book Review:      Today I read GOODBYE MR HOLLYWOOD . Firstly I had thought this book is mystery. However it's not mystery story like Holmes but it contained accidents or questions.        There was a man who is Nick. He is a travel writer and have come Whistler, in Canada for his working. At a cafe in the village he met a pretty lady. He is called Mr. Hollywood from her because Nick likes movies. It's not strange thing but actually the name was beginning of all incidents.       Nick didn't know about the lady, but felt exciting because she was beautiful. After she left the cafe, he finished drinking his coffee and left there. However from the day he was chased from someone. Moreover when Nick was walking in the forest someone tried to kill him with a gun. Nick went to a police, but the officer didn't help him so much. I thought the officer isn't kind and not suit for police men.      To be safe he met the lady again because he has thought she knows something about

'Who, Sir? Me, Sir?'

 Book Review:      Today I finished reading a book of 'Who, Sir? Me, Sir?' This was little long and high level for me, so there are some points that I couldn't understand. However the story was interesting.     There was a teacher who wants his class to have ambition, and to do great things in life. Therefore he enters them for a sporting competition against the rich students of Greycoats School. The team that he has chosen for the competition think the teacher has gone crazy. 'Who, Sir? Me, Sir?' says little boy who is called Hoomey, his eyes round with horror. 'We'll never beat Greycoats,'  the others cry. 'Never in a million years!'      However you don't know what you can do until you try...      If you know the result of the competition, I recommend to read this book.
